Bob, JJ and Alex
Bob Orci, JJ Abrams and Alex Kurtzman at the Fox Upfronts

Not much new in the realm of FRINGE today, but did find a rather good picspam for FRINGE over on OhNoTheyDidnt. Some pics I’ve seen, some I haven’t, so felt it worthy of sharing. A bunch of pics of Joshua Jackson at the Upfronts, FYI.

Is it August 26th yet?

Another new project for Bob & Alex

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Guess those boys don’t like to twiddle their thumbs, eh?

Michael Bay, director of the upcoming Transformers movie, will reteam with Transformers writer-producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci for Warner Bros.’ 2012, a sci-fi drama based on Whitley Strieber’s upcoming book of the same name. The story is about an academic researcher who opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to stop an apocalypse foreseen by the ancient Mayans. Kurtzman and Orci are also the writers for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek movie for Paramount.

Trekking through the stars…

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Oh lookie here! An actual article on “Star Trek” that I feel confident in posting! Such a rarity ;)

The Dynamic Duo…who I guess you guys know better as Bob Orci & Alex Kurtzman gave an exclusive interview to MTV about the Star Trek movie. Of course, they really don’t give any plot details, and answered most of the interviewer’s questions (hilariously) with the answer “Really, who can say?” *snort* Also, nice to know that Bob Orci may actually be geekier than his brother Rick — something I did not think possible.

*runs*

“JJ talks ‘Trek’”

Monday, January 15th, 2007

A rare sight indeed. Entertainment Weekly somehow managed to get JJ to actually talk about the 11th Star Trek movie. The biggest news from the article (to me, at least) is that Bob & Alex have finally finished the first draft of the script. Not a lot of info outside of that morsel, except that EW needs a better fact-checker.

It’s Alex Kurtzman, not “Christian” — and thanks to EW, hundreds of articles across the country that referenced this one have ALSO misspelled his name. Oy and vey.

Bob & Alex’s “Round Table”

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Knowing how much money is riding on the “Transformers” movie that they penned, and knowing how intense that fandom is, Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci harked back to their television days and put together a group of fellow writers and industry constituents to look over their screenplay, the last draft before shooting begins.

Seeing how diligent Bob & Alex are with regards to the Transformers’ story and fandom, the Trekkies should breathe a bit easier knowing that those guys will handle the 11th Star Trek movie with equal, if not more, diligence.
