IGN managed to tackle the blur known as J.J. Abrams this week and get some questions answered about his Star Trek movie (i.e., the movie will still be done by Christmas - it was Paramount that made the decision to delay the release until May) and the continued swirling rumors around a sequel to Cloverfield (i.e., JJ would rather do a new and different movie with Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard rather than a sequel).

This coming Tuesday, April 29, 2008, Michael Giacchino’s brilliant piece “ROAR!” - which can be heard during the end credits for CLOVERFIELD will be available for purchase on iTunes, according to Soundtrack.net.
You can never have too many Giacchino downloads in your library.
According to this article in Variety, Matt Reeves, JJ Abrams, and Drew Goddard are in talks with Paramount to develop a sequel to CLOVERFIELD.
Sooooo…how long before the viral marketing for “CLOVERFIELD II: Electric Bugaloo” starts up? A week? Two? 
It is a RARE occurrence for me to find an interview with the one, the only - Bryan Burk - that covers stuff I haven’t heard him talk about before. Well, LOOKIE HERE - I actually found one. I was doing a phone interview last night and I was asked what an “Easter Egg” is. I actually had to stop for a moment - the realization that there are still people in the world who are unfamiliar with Easter Eggs was a bit startling for me. But then again, not everyone has been immersed in Bad Robotland for the past five years like I have. Weird.
Oh, I am posting this to share this piece from SciFiWire with Matt Reeves. The question is - am I more amused that Reeves was so coy about the Easter Eggs that CLOVERFIELD fans have been picking apart on the internet…or by the thought that the interviewer actually thought he would get a straight answer? Hmmm…

If you’ve seen the movie, then you know that one of the most unforgettable characters was someone you barely saw at all - and I ain’t talking about the MONSTER. In fact, I think the big C-Field boogity boogity was on screen more than Hud was. SciFiWire has an interview with T.J. Miller up, the voice behind the camcorder (a/k/a Tomja’s HERO).
In case you hadn’t heard, CLOVERFIELD’s opening weekend is the best January opening EVAH!! There will be no living with those BR folks now…

For the Trekkies ~ looks like the entire cast of the new movie was there.
Okay, so a crazy idea popped in my head, and the more I thought about it…the less crazy it seemed. This CLOVERFIELD movie is a big deal to Bad Robot. We all know that the critics are going to tear it up or tear it down, depending on their own agendas (yes, I’m jaded). But I know that the opinions that mean the most to the BR peeps are from THE FANS - which would be YOU and YOU and YOU and YOU, etc.
So here is my idea — first, BOOKMARK THIS ENTRY — then, after you go see the movie, COME HERE AND POST WHAT YOU THOUGHT ABOUT “CLOVERFIELD.” Just hit the comment button, and give me all ya got. My only request is that if you have criticism, make it constructive. After a couple of weeks, I’m going to send the Bad Robot people a “Valentine’s Gift” - your posts about their movie.

The viewing of the completed film for cast and crew was yesterday, and I have been told that it was something truly special to see. I can’t wait to see it!!! The taunting has been merciless.
