…by Matthew Fox
The Time magazine article (of the same name) is a cool breakdown of Foxy’s acting talents and how he engages people he is speaking with. I like this little bit from the interviewer:
That’s Fox’s great skill: he’s the homecoming king who’s somehow interested in you. Dawson is planning a fishing trip with him. I, for one, am convinced that Fox cares deeply about what music I listen to, even though I own every Billy Joel album and he’s good friends with Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day.

USA Today’s Bill Keveney is one of the better reporter’s out there. Whenever he is writing an article on Lost, he makes a sincere effort to get quotes from various sites — including posting on The Fuselage asking for LOST fans to contact him.
His latest LOST article quotes a couple of my fellow ‘Lagers (way to go TMitH and LBM!!) and sets us up for the rest of the season.

How “exclusive” is an interview if a number of news outlets are ALSO getting “exclusive” interviews? And pretty much asking the same thing? I wonder about these things…
The return of Lost is definitely on the horizon, because it seems EVERYBODY has an “exclusive” interview with the Big Two (aka Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse). I posted a couple of links below — just assume that there will be spoilers of some sort:
MediaVillage’s “Exclusive” Interview
SciFiWire’s Interview

The following comes from a press release from ABC:
LOST SURVIVOR GUIDE SPECIAL — WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (9:00-10:00 p.m.) — ABC once again invites new and avid “Lost” viewers to take another look at one of the most talked about and critically acclaimed shows. “Lost Survivor Guide” will explore the series in a way that will bring new viewers up to date — but which current viewers will also find illuminating in anticipation of the return of the second act of the series’ third season. From the back stories of some of the most interesting characters on television to the mysteries of the island, “Lost Survivor Guide” will provide an insightful glimpse into the lives of some of the survivors of the doomed Oceanic Airlines flight 815. Hosted by “Lost” executive producers Damon Lindelof (also a co-creator of the show) and Carlton Cuse, the special will be told in a linear fashion, culminating from pieces of the back stories revealed over multiple episodes in the series, “Lost Survivor Guide” focuses on the flashbacks of a core of characters — illustrating who they were and what they were doing before the crash, and how the island has changed their lives, for better or worse. In addition, the island itself will be explored culled from events that have taken place which may reveal some of its secrets that might have been missed upon first viewing.

I’ve read enough of these summaries of the Lost panel from the TCA press tour to know that THIS ONE by IGN is probably the only one you need to read. These guys must have taped the thing, because the article is FIVE PAGES long (and includes pictures, which is always a good thing).
I haven’t had a chance to read the entire article yet, but read enough to know that it does contain SPOILERS for the rest of Season 3 and various characters’ storylines.

And by “brief” — I mean BRIEF, so don’t get your hopes up. But iFMagazine did get The Nomad to at least reiterate what is confirmed and NOT confirmed. In the unconfirmed category? STILL nothing official about whether or not JJ is going to direct.

I finally had a chance to read Kristin Veitch’s “live blog” of the Lost panel at the TCA’s last weekend. You can find it HERE. She did have a few tidbits that I had not read elsewhere, including a confirmation that Kate and Sawyer were taken by Ben to help in manipulating Jack to perform the surgery. There ARE SPOILERS, so be wary.
ALSO — if you are a fan of Heroes, she mentions a SPOILER for that show as well. You’ve been warned.

Following that Lost panel at Television Arts & Sciences this past Sunday, SCI FI Wire snagged an interview with Damon Lindelof, wherein The Nomad indicates that their hope is to end the show around 100 episodes (or after the fifth season). Quotage from Damon in the article:
“We all looked at each other at the very beginning and said, ‘By the grace of God will this show even survive 13 episodes,’” he said. “So Carlton and I are able to now sit down with [the network] and say, ‘Remember in the very beginning when you were having us convince you that this thing could go on for years and years and years and we all agreed it couldn’t? Well, now, just because it’s successful doesn’t mean that that’s changed.’ The reality is, they can produce a sixth or seventh or eight season, but would anybody be watching?
Preach it, brotha. Let’s hope the network is listening.

A rare sight indeed. Entertainment Weekly somehow managed to get JJ to actually talk about the 11th Star Trek movie. The biggest news from the article (to me, at least) is that Bob & Alex have finally finished the first draft of the script. Not a lot of info outside of that morsel, except that EW needs a better fact-checker.
It’s Alex Kurtzman, not “Christian” — and thanks to EW, hundreds of articles across the country that referenced this one have ALSO misspelled his name. Oy and vey.
