IGN managed to tackle the blur known as J.J. Abrams this week and get some questions answered about his Star Trek movie (i.e., the movie will still be done by Christmas - it was Paramount that made the decision to delay the release until May) and the continued swirling rumors around a sequel to Cloverfield (i.e., JJ would rather do a new and different movie with Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard rather than a sequel).
You can find the interview HERE.

According to this article in Variety, Matt Reeves, JJ Abrams, and Drew Goddard are in talks with Paramount to develop a sequel to CLOVERFIELD.
Sooooo…how long before the viral marketing for “CLOVERFIELD II: Electric Bugaloo” starts up? A week? Two?

In case you hadn’t heard, CLOVERFIELD’s opening weekend is the best January opening EVAH!! There will be no living with those BR folks now…
TEASING! HUGE congrats to JJ, Burky, the Ultimate Drew, Matt Reeves and my buddy Dave Baronoff (who neglected to tell me he had an Associate Producer credit for the movie - w00t!). I’ll be posting my thoughts on the movie soon.

I know everyone missed the red carpet at the Golden Globes, so to make up for the lack of glitz and glamour, CLOVERFIELD threw a helluva party last night. Go check out these pics from the premiere. Thanks to my buddy q for finding them over at IESB.net.
For any M.U.D. members checking out the pics, THANK GOD Goddard finally cut his hair
For the Trekkies ~ looks like the entire cast of the new movie was there.

Congratulations to Damon Lindelof and the Ultimate Drew Goddard, whose episode “Flashes Before Your Eyes” garnered a nomination in the Episodic TV Drama category of the 2008 Writers Guild Awards. I don’t remember much about that episode, due to my BRAIN EXPLODING after it aired

This ain’t your daddy’s marketing campaign.
First off — I HAVE NO INSIDER KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THIS MOVIE. I’m just playing along like the rest of you, while being taunted mercilessly by people who DO know.
Here are some sites that we have been led to believe are part of the viral marketing campaign:

I wasn’t going to link this blog review of last Wednesday’s SPECTACULAR episode of Lost. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit of a Lost snob. Oh wait, that is exactly what it is
To steal a comment that The Nomad left on The Fuselage a while ago — there are people who “get” this show, and those that don’t. This guy…doesn’t.
But, thankfully, a number of those who commented on his review…do. And their comments defending the show and, in particular, this episode, are very much worth the read.

For a while there, I thought maybe Damon had forgotten the site address, but lo and behold…all the mind ’splodey on The Fuselage’s Linear Board last night brought out the pretty green-colored font. Seriously, Nomad…don’t be a stranger!
Here’s a snippet of his posts (for the full messages, go to The Fuse):
TheNomad says:

Fuselagers!!!

This was an ep I am particularly proud of —
One that reps all the stuff on LOST that
makes it what it is… Faith, Destiny, Free
Will…
And lots and lots of DESMOND.
Big shout outs to Drew Goddard (a true
genius) and Henry Ian Cusick, who is nothing
short of astonishing.
….
Big Hugs,
Damon
His second post is actually spoilery, so I’m putting the SPOILER bit behind the cut:
