Keeping with its efforts to use as many locals as possible while filming in Hawai’i, Lost has formed an “educational partnership” with the University of Hawai’i. Hoax pics taken from LOST episode

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I just thought it was amusing that the blogger that claimed to have photos from a Brazilian airplane crash had used screenshots from one of the MOST POPULAR TV SHOWS IN THE WORLD…aka Lost. Hey look! It’s Evangeline Lilly! I didn’t know she was in a REAL airplane crash!

I had a huge gigglefit from this, so I thought I’d share :)

Bob & Alex’s “Round Table”

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Knowing how much money is riding on the “Transformers” movie that they penned, and knowing how intense that fandom is, Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci harked back to their television days and put together a group of fellow writers and industry constituents to look over their screenplay, the last draft before shooting begins.

Seeing how diligent Bob & Alex are with regards to the Transformers’ story and fandom, the Trekkies should breathe a bit easier knowing that those guys will handle the 11th Star Trek movie with equal, if not more, diligence.

Scott Foley engaged

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

Something is in the water for those who used to act in BR shows, it seems…not that that is a BAD thing. First Bradley Cooper, and now Scott Foley (Noel on Felicity) is engaged. He’s doing some kick ass work on The Unit and now it looks like his personal life is hitting a homerun as well. Best wishes to Scott!

TOQ comments about this season’s Locke

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

I have a madcrazykindoflove for both Jorge Garcia and Terry O’Quinn for being HUGE MEGA STARS, but still popping up on The Fuse pretty regularly to chat with the fans and answer questions.

Last week, in response to a “character development” development question, Terry had this to say about Locke this season:

John the Questor is back…….the watcher…….the walker………….the hunter……..the seeker………….the loser…………….yeah, all back.

(teh evil?)

Terry

Of course, the best part of the quote is “teh evil?” because that is a LONG running, totally harmless, “argument” with the regulars on the Fuse, some of whom declare that “Locke is teh evil” only to get a reply that “Locke is NOT teh evil.” It is all in fun, and Terry obviously GETS that…which only makes me love him more.

**Props to Lostkateer olafandyjon for pointing me to that post.**

Too much of a good thing?

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

I liked this article from SignOnSanDiego’s Karla Peterson. She takes a look at the really good television shows that are tanking or not doing as well as hoped in the ratings this TV season. She includes Six Degrees in that list, and mentions the influence of Lost on our television viewing habits. Interesting quote:

And while those who have the fortitude for sprawling, multi-character epics like “Lost” and “Battlestar Galactica” seem willing to give comic-book themed “Heroes” and the apocalyptic “Jericho” a shot, the thought of also adding the more traditional dramatic stylings of “Six Degrees” and “Friday Night Lights” is enough to make their inner hard-drives explode. Not to mention their DVRs.

I would have to agree that this is probably the first TV season in a LONG time in which I have something I want to watch most nights of the week — sometimes even 2 or 3 on a night! And I am definitely a hard sell when it comes to television, so that IS saying something.

BIG CONGRATS to them both.

What if it had been shot in Australia instead?

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

I guess that the Lost producers had seriously considered shooting the show in Australia before making an “11th hour” decision to shoot in Hawai’i instead.  New Zealand was also considered for a time.

Quotes from Burky:

“Ultimately what they (Australia) didn’t have, what we needed, was all the mountains in that area in the same way we could in Hawaii,” Burk said.

“Just purely for the topography alone, there is nothing like the Hawaiian islands. It’s also five hours away from Los Angeles.”

Also has some quotes from Evi.
