Foxy
Humminah Humminah

*cough* AHEM! The super cutetalented Matthew Fox was in Berlin for a big press conference about the upcoming Speed Racer movie, in which he will play “Racer X.” More photos from the press conference and bios of the cast can be found at the official site: http://www.SpeedRacerTheMovie.com. The movie is currently slated for a May 9, 2008 release.

I almost didn’t recognize Foxy without the scruff on his face. Big thanks to mysticxf from LJ-land for the heads up.

JJ directing episode of “The Office”

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Looks like JJ is dusting off his television director’s chair, but not for an episode of Lost or one of his other Bad Robot shows. Nope, he’s going to be directing an episode of The Office, according to Daily Variety. If the rumor is true, the episode will be shot in January.

I’m trying to wrap my mind around this — I have no doubt that JJ can do it. He’s a frellin’ genius and his directorial instincts are fantastic. I’m just trying to imagine how he is going to manage to fit a car crash and a mysterious box into a half-hour sitcom :)

IGN interviews Foxy

Monday, November 6th, 2006

IGN has interview up with Matthew Fox wherein they ask him about the two movies he filmed last Summer (”We are Marshall” and “Vantage Point”), as well as Lost. Nothing spoilery.

Watch Foxy’s new movie at Sam’s Club

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

Hee! I love making up titles that make people think, “Wha- ?” In some kind of “ground-breaking” advertising gimmick, Sam’s Club (yes, as in Wal*Mart-in-bulk) has made a special deal to show Matthew Fox’s movie “We Are Marshall” at some of its stores BEFORE the movie hits theaters.

Hopefully they will arrange for seating other than those handicap carts.

Bender films trailer for Hawaiian Film Festival

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

Jack Bender believes in giving back, and that appears to include filming the trailer for the upcoming Louis Vitton Hawaiian Film Festival for free. Quotage:

Why would an extremely busy and successful Los Angeles producer shoot a trailer for free? Says Bender, “I love being in Hawaii, I love shooting here, and I think HIFF has become one of the significant film festivals in the world.” Plus, he adds, the trailer “turned out pretty cool.”

“We Are Marshall” trailer online

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Premiere magazine does a complete play-by-play of the first trailer out for “We Are Marshall,” which comes out in December and stars Matthew Fox. If you click the link, you can watch the trailer, too. Honestly, it has to be one of the most powerful movie trailers I’ve ever seen. Quote from the mag:

Fox voiceovers, “I promised mothers that I’d look after their sons — there’s not one of them left,” and if you aren’t weeping at this point, you are a meaner Irishman than I, because Matthew Fox can really sell some tragedy. How else do you explain six seasons of Party of Five?

Small “Ultimate Wolverine vs. The Hulk” update

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

ComicBookResources.com posted this report from Baltimore’s Comic-Con held earlier this month.  Marvel Comics Editor in Chief, Joe Quesada, was there, and was asked about the status of Damon’s comic book series.

“Ultimate Wolverine Vs. the Hulk”-what happened? “‘Lost’ is what happened,” Quesada said. “Damon [Lindelof] bit off more than he could chew.” Later in the panel, Quesada appeared to confirm that Lindelof had finished script three and that they were just waiting on art.

“Rose” sighting

For those of you who get a chance to check out the movie Gridiron Gang, which hit theaters last weekend, you may see a familiar face:  L. Scott Caldwell plays The Rock’s mom in the film.
