Bob & Alex’s “Round Table”

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Knowing how much money is riding on the “Transformers” movie that they penned, and knowing how intense that fandom is, Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci harked back to their television days and put together a group of fellow writers and industry constituents to look over their screenplay, the last draft before shooting begins.

Seeing how diligent Bob & Alex are with regards to the Transformers’ story and fandom, the Trekkies should breathe a bit easier knowing that those guys will handle the 11th Star Trek movie with equal, if not more, diligence.

New JJ interviews

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

The Mission: Impossible: III DVD was released this past Monday, so JJ has been hitting the interview circuit. And since it is JJ, they aren’t only talking to him about M:i:III. There are also queries about Lost and Star Trek:XI in the following interviews. Enjoy!

TV Guide interview

MTV News interview — MTV still has a crazy, screwed up website. Good luck on actually getting to read the WHOLE interview. Sheesh!

E!’s Kristin Veitch’s interview — I have to say, as annoying as Kristin usually is to me, this is a good interview, because she and JJ have a history, and it shows.

ETA: I meant to include this quote from JJ’s interview with Kristin, just cause it’s funny –

Okay, so you worked with Tom on Mission and also his cousin, William Mapother, on Lost. Is that just a coincidence?

The weirdest coincidence is both were named Ethan.

Hee!

JJ interviewed in Star Trek Mag

Friday, October 13th, 2006

The new issue of Star Trek Magazine features an interview with JJ Abrams. He doesn’t give any details away about the next Star Trek movie, but he does talk about his love of shows like Star Trek (TOS) and The Twilight Zone, and of genres like Sci Fi and Horror/Thriller.

C’mon. It’s JJ, so it is definitely worth the read.

Kevin Weisman interviewed by Moviehole

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

The best part of this interview with Kevin Weisman (Marshall from Alias)? Finding out that Alias is still airing in Australia. *sniff* I miss Alias.

Moviehole asked Kevin about Alias, “Clerks 2″ and even teasingly about getting a role in JJ’s next big project — The-Sequel-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named :)

“Star Trek XI Is A Rumor Wreck”

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Josh Tyler over at CinemaBlend posted a breakdown of the rumors that have been floating around, specifically the ones related to William Shatner and Matt Damon, and how those have now pretty much been debunked.

I’m sorry, but I have been TRYING to tell the Trek fans to pipe down and not believe the rumors that were floating around. Did they listen to me? No. There is a VERY small handful of people who I would consider to be “in the know” when it comes to the 11th Star Trek movie, and NONE of them are talking anytime soon. Why? BECAUSE IT’S TOO SOON.

I get that the Trek fans are chomping at the bit to hear something…ANYTHING…about the new movie. I understand that. What I have a problem with is the various websites playing on that rabid need for knowledge by posting information that has NO proof to back it up, thus perpetuating the rumors and only agitating the fans more. Stop the madness. Please.
