“Six Degrees” shelved until January

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

In an unsettling move for Six Degrees fans, ABC has decided to take the show off Thursday nights effective immediately*. It will be replace by Men in Trees starting November 30th. According to the article, Six Degrees will return in January, though what night is undecided at this time. I read a rumor elsewhere that there was additional retooling being done on the show, but I have yet to read that anywhere else.

*ETA: Six Degrees will NOT be on tonight. A repeat of Desperate Housewives will air in its time slot.

And in this corner…

In the spirit of equality, here is an article that gives Lost a list of ultimatums — a “last straw” plea from a reviewer who I know has been a big fan of Lost up until now, it seems.

EW’s Review of “I Do”

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

This reviewer from Entertainment Weekly seemed pretty happy with the “Fall Finale” of Lost. I’m hearing both high praise and severe disappointment (especially after last week’s OMGWTF episode). She also thinks that the “Triangle” is not as over as we may think.

While there have been plenty of complaints about this season of Lost, there has also been praise. Rob Thomas, a writer for The Capital Times in Madison, Wisconsin, gives this examination of why he believes that watching Lost is like watching a “great striptease.”

Scott Foley engaged

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

Something is in the water for those who used to act in BR shows, it seems…not that that is a BAD thing. First Bradley Cooper, and now Scott Foley (Noel on Felicity) is engaged. He’s doing some kick ass work on The Unit and now it looks like his personal life is hitting a homerun as well. Best wishes to Scott!

Article on April Webster

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

April Webster was recently honored by the Casting Society of America for her achievements in casting for television and movies. She has working on a number of JJ’s projects (Alias, Lost, Six Degrees and M:i:III), and this article from Backstage.com gives insight to her experiences after three decades in the business. She talks about casting for Lost in the piece.

My favorite piece of “Did you know…” trivia related to April is that she played the part (uncredited) of Irina Derevko in the Season 1 finale of Alias, since they did not have the part cast yet :)

Just got this link from my contact at The Associated Press. It is video from TODAY at the Toys R Us in Times Square, where Jorge Garcia, Bryan Burk and Todd MacFarlane gave some interviews and signed some autographs as they launched the MacFarlane action figures for Lost.

I wants them. I NEEDS THEM.

Maggie Grace has signed on to star in the movie adaptation of the book “The Jane Austen Book Club.” Personally, I didn’t care for the book, but it will be good to see Maggie on the big screen.

Watch Foxy’s new movie at Sam’s Club

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

Hee! I love making up titles that make people think, “Wha- ?” In some kind of “ground-breaking” advertising gimmick, Sam’s Club (yes, as in Wal*Mart-in-bulk) has made a special deal to show Matthew Fox’s movie “We Are Marshall” at some of its stores BEFORE the movie hits theaters.

Hopefully they will arrange for seating other than those handicap carts.

EW interviews Adewale (post-Eko)

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

Thank goodness! Finally, a full-story article on Adewale, which not only has an in-depth interview with the man himself, but also includes quotes from Damon and Carlton. AND addresses the most prominent rumors revolving around the demise of Mr. Eko last Wednesday night.

Seriously, if any of you guys read any crap on the various Lost boards about the reasoning behind the departure of Mr. Eko, direct them to that Entertainment Weekly article. It SHOULD quash the stupid rumors, of which I’ve already read my fill of this week.
