The latest Lost article by Doc Jensen at Entertainment Weekly is up for your reading pleasure. Doc has some bits about tonight’s episode, as well as spoilers for the next episode — including references to a VERY IMPORTANT EASTER EGG that is supposed to be in the 3/7 ep.
Doc includes a theory by one of his good friends, and it is REALLY good — and y’all know that I rarely recommend a theory to read. This would be one of the one’s that is worth your time.
According to this press release from ABC, we will start getting new episodes of Six Degrees starting Friday, March 23rd, where it will air at 9:01 p.m. (Eastern). Check back for more information regarding the episodes soon!
…but it won’t be up until Wednesday. Speaker and I both are trying to get back into the swing of things (and clean up all the mind ’splodey). We did some talking and have decided to keep the focus of the podcasts on Lost, since we can’t seem to shut up about the show.
I wasn’t going to link this blog review of last Wednesday’s SPECTACULAR episode of Lost. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit of a Lost snob. Oh wait, that is exactly what it is To steal a comment that The Nomad left on The Fuselage a while ago — there are people who “get” this show, and those that don’t. This guy…doesn’t.
But, thankfully, a number of those who commented on his review…do. And their comments defending the show and, in particular, this episode, are very much worth the read.
I know the subject line may seem a bit overdramatic, but if you have read as many theories about what is “really going on” with the LOST Island as I have, then you would understand.
I first clicked on this Washington Post blog entry, because it had a new revelation about LAST WEEK’s episode “Not in Portland.” It seems there is a message if you play the brainwashing scene in reverse — which is uber cool and MAY BE uber revealing. I’m not going to spoil it here, so that the proper peeps that found it get their credit. Just click on the article and it has an embedded video of the scene in reverse. Awesomeness.
The OTHER reason to read that blog article is for The Theory. It analyzes the hidden message in conjunction with THIS WEEK’s episode — and the fandom talk about what the Island is all about. The funny, and GENIUS, thing about this theory is that it did not originate from a fan or from Lost Labs — but from a true genius and his book, which made an appearance in last week’s episode. It is my favorite kind of launching point for a story, and something that I use in my own writing — WHAT IF what this book says is true…then WHAT IF that’s what this island is about. Again, I’m going to refer y’all to the article, because it deserves the credit, and credits the others who deserve it.
If this theory isn’t correct, I may actually be disappointed.
You can read the full cover story by Entertainment Weekly on Lost, including pics from the mag, by going HERE. Being the spoiler-phobe that I am, I haven’t read the whole article, but I am going to assume that there are basic plot spoilers.
The Associated Press has their video recap up for last night’s LOST. The end of the video does discuss some spoilers for next week’s episode, so be forewarned
For a while there, I thought maybe Damon had forgotten the site address, but lo and behold…all the mind ’splodey on The Fuselage’s Linear Board last night brought out the pretty green-colored font. Seriously, Nomad…don’t be a stranger!
Here’s a snippet of his posts (for the full messages, go to The Fuse):
TheNomad says:

Fuselagers!!!
….
This was an ep I am particularly proud of —
One that reps all the stuff on LOST that
makes it what it is… Faith, Destiny, Free
Will…
And lots and lots of DESMOND.
Big shout outs to Drew Goddard (a true
genius) and Henry Ian Cusick, who is nothing
short of astonishing.
….
Big Hugs,
Damon
His second post is actually spoilery, so I’m putting the SPOILER bit behind the cut: (more…)
Okay, here are my notes from last night’s episode. I was burning up the Google and Wiki, I tell yah!
I have never read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, but I guess the time looping/deja vu/back to the future stuff is similar to what happens in that series.
Numbers — 1:08 on Desmond’s clock. Delivery for 815. When the old lady is explaining to Desmond what his future has to be, she says it is 2 years before he joins the boat race and then he has 3 years on the island (23 is one of the numbers).
Up close image of Desmond’s eye is a callback to many Lost episodes that started with just an eye, most notable one being the Pilot episode. Jack waking up in the jungle, we start with just a shot of his eye.
Abstract painting in Charles Widmore’s office has “namaste” written backwards across the top and a polar bear, which Desmond notices.
When Desmond sees Charlie in his alternate universe, he is singing Wonderwall by Oasis. Also, the sign says “Charlie Hieronymous Pace” — Hieronymous is the first name of Bosch, a 15th century painter whose most famous painting was “The Garden of Earthly Delights”
Desmond’s professor friend is explaining to a student that you can run the same study 10 different times and get 10 different results. Is this a clue for theorists?
At the bar, jukebox is playing Mama Cass’ “Make Your Own Kind of Music” which is what Desmond played on the turntable to open up the Season 2 premiere episode of Lost “Man of Science, Man of Faith”
“The universe has a way of course correcting” is very much like the Final Destination movies.
The only hit I got for Admiral McCutcheon was from a television miniseries adaptation of Jules Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” — it was the name of a character whose ship, the Abraham Lincoln, came up against Captain Nemo. I wouldn’t even mention it, except for Charles Widmore’s “Admiral McCutcheon” story and that it involves ships and the sea…appropriate for Desmond.
That’s all I got for now. That whole episode was a mind-trip, in the literal sense of the word. Oh, and Hannah Tucker over at Entertainment Weeklyposted a (lame) review, if you’re interested. All of the MEAT in that episode and she focuses on David Hume’s theory of combatibilism? *YAWN*
