You know you have been chomping at the bit for this one, so without further ado…
Doc Jensen review of the LOST S3 Finale
Haven’t read it all yet, but…it’s DOC. You know it’s gonna be good stuff.
The best part about coming up with a fragment of a theory is to find someone else in the LOST fandom who has come up with the same theory…and already fleshed it out for you. Again, I warn you — DO NOT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN LAST NIGHT’S FINALE OF LOST!!!

Okay, I was examining a screencap of the newspaper clipping that Jack had — the only clue we have to who was “in the box” (so to speak). After doing some web searches, I started to lean towards the name Jeremy Bentham. Why him? Well, he was a philosopher at the time of John Locke — which could make him a NEW as-yet-unmet character…OR it could be an alias used by John Locke in the future.
I popped over to Lostpedia to see if I was alone in this theory, and VOILA!!! I found a fantastic breakdown of not only my Jeremy Bentham theory, but a whole list of theories of “Who is in the coffin?”. Very much worth the read, and that whole page of theories related to TtLG will break your brain. If you are into theories, you must go there FIRST.
This one is from our buddies over at From Inside the Box. There is some theorizing, but it comes from an educated showwatcher, so I’m good with that.
CNN has posted The Associated Press’ review of LOST’s Season 3 Finale, which aired last night. It’s a good, clean and complete review, without waxing poetic on theories or anything of that nature, if that’s not your cup o’ tea.
I am going to call this “speculation” as opposed to “theory” — after watching last night’s episode, I am nowhere NEAR ready to actually theorize yet. I need to rewatch it a few dozen times to do that!

I think that Locke is in the coffin. Most of the board spec has said they think it is Ben, but I honestly can’t imagine them EVER getting Ben off the Island, dead or alive. And it would make sense — there were NO attendees of his funeral, yet Jack felt compelled to be there and was upset when he read the obit. Plus, Jack and Locke are yin and yang — they are each other’s antagonist. They have both been leaders of the Lostaways, but both have continually led the groups in opposite directions. IF their being rescued was some kind of life altering mistake, then that means Locke was RIGHT. Locke dying before Jack could make it right again would be devastating to him.
Second speculation (which is more theoretical) regarding Jack’s allusion that his father is alive in this futureflash — right now, I’m leaning towards alternate realities. Desmond was told by Ms. Hawking that “the universe has a way of course correcting.” Desmond did not alter his decision to leave Penny, because of what Ms. Hawking said to him — but on the Island, he repeatedly tried to stop Charlie’s death…even though he knew it would alter things and would become an inevitability. What if their rescue disrupts this natural course? And either sets them back to a time right before the crash, or changes what happened before the crash.
So so so many things to play with for the next 8 months, eh? Must go rest my brain now…
Yahoo! has put up a clip from tonight’s SEASON FINALE for LOST!! I didn’t watch it, but I know that it has Jack and Sayid. Go! you spoilerholics, GOOOOO!
Something to tide you over until TONIGHT:
Top 10 LOST S3 Moments according to Entertainment Weekly
Of course, it is compiled by Doc Jensen, so it’s good stuff. NO spoilers ![]()
One of my favorite sites for entertainment industry information and articles is Zap2it. When I was clicking around on the site a few days ago, I discovered their television blog called From Inside the Box. They cover a bunch of shows, including LOST — so CHECK IT OUT.
They were even nice enough to include EPM on their Other TV Blogs list. They pimp me, I pimp them. See how that works? ![]()
Quickly posting this before I head to lunch: Doc Jensen reviews “Greatest Hits”.
There! Be back later to flesh out…

Former Alias writer (and younger brother of Roberto Orci), J.R. “Rick” Orci, will be writing for the new NBC drama Journeyman. It will be airing this Fall after Heroes at 10 p.m. (EST).
Don’t know much about the show (yet), except what is on the NBC site — which does have some vid clips and interviews with the actors. I’ll post more as it becomes available.
Bad Robot’s drama pilot (the first one under JJ’s new deal with Warner Bros.) has been cast and they say JJ Abrams will be directing it as well. They are referring to the show, which will air on HBO, by the name of the book it is based on — “The Anatomy of Hope” — but I’m not sure if that is the “official” title of the show. I think most people are calling it “that cancer show JJ’s doing on HBO.”
THANK GOD!!! ABC prez Steve McPherson announced at the Upfronts today that LOST will be on earlier when it comes back for Season 4. That 10 o’clock time slot was KILLING ME and preventing me from being able to stay up and read the boards as long as I wanted to. It sucks to be responsible.
But anyway, according to that Zap2it article, Steve said the Tivo/DVR numbers for “live plus 7″ had DOUBLED with the timeslot shift. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out that LOST just isn’t a show that you can watch at 10, then go to sleep at 11. There has to be time to Google and Wiki!!
I know y’all are all waiting on pins and needles for Jeff Jensen’s review of last night’s OMGWTFLOST??!!??, so there ya go. I haven’t even read it yet, but assume there be spoilers.
It’s a good thing that Doc Jensen is married and I am married or else there would be some serious proposing going on
I’m going to have to give him a category now, since I post his articles so much…
Doc asks EVERY QUESTION that I had in my head or had read elsewhere in conjunction with ABC’s announcement regarding LOST ending in 2010 — directly to Damon and Carlton — and THEY ANSWER (almost) EVERY ONE. Run, don’t walk. Vague spoilers, but y’all can handle it.
