If you have read this blog for awhile, then you know that speaker and I both are never-ending fans of former LOST writer, Javier Grillo-Marxuach. The insanely talented Javi’s television series adaptation of his comic book series “The Middleman” has been officially picked up by ABC Family. w00t!
A well deserved feather in the cap of my good friend Javi. Congratulations, buddy!

According to this article in Variety, Matt Reeves, JJ Abrams, and Drew Goddard are in talks with Paramount to develop a sequel to CLOVERFIELD.
Sooooo…how long before the viral marketing for “CLOVERFIELD II: Electric Bugaloo” starts up? A week? Two?

The Canadian paper, The Globe and Mail, posted THIS ARTICLE about LOST - its return this week, the viewers of the show, the effect of the WGA Strike, etc. It’s a good read. Not spoilery either, except mentionings of what happened in the S3 finale.

I was interviewed last week by The Houston Chronicle about being a fan of JJ and LOST. It seems that the interviewer liked what I had to say because my name comes up often in the piece that went live today.
Go HERE to read it. Yeah, that Johnston chick? That’s me
One note: I DO NOT co-run The Fuselage with Artie. That would be the lovely Karri. The interviewer really didn’t have much of an understanding about online bulletin boards, so when I told her I was a moderator there, I think she misunderstood what that was. Otherwise, the rest of the article is good - and it’s a positive one, which I always like to see.

It is a RARE occurrence for me to find an interview with the one, the only - Bryan Burk - that covers stuff I haven’t heard him talk about before. Well, LOOKIE HERE - I actually found one. Burky talks about CLOVERFIELD, but he also talks about his love for Star Wars and how he came to meet and become best friends with JJ and Matt. SOOOO worth the read.
Go. Now. Read it.
ETA: BIG THANKS to my pal Grant for sending me the link. NEVER ASSUME I HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING!!! That goes for all of you. Me busy girl these days. I miss a LOT

This is kind of cool. Check out this press release from ABC Medianet:
DISCOVER “LOST” IN MARVEL COMICS
ABC Marketing Places Key Visual References from the Hit Show in Popular Marvel Comics, Including Uncanny X-Men, Incredible Hercules, Thunderbolts and Wolverine Origins
Now fans can discover elements from the hit series “Lost” in Marvel Comics. ABC marketing has strategically placed images and references from the show in various comic books, including Uncanny X-Men, Incredible Hercules, Thunderbolts and Wolverine Origins on sale now. Examples of “Lost” references include a “Lost” poster, the number 6, and the slogan “Find Yourself” in the latest editions of numerous Marvel comics throughout the month. Expect more “Lost” placements to pop up in comic books on stands January 23 and January 30.
Someone will have to send me scans, so I can post them here for everyone to see

First, a pic of two of my favorite people (from IESB.net’s photo gallery of the CLOVERFIELD premiere):

Burky had this to say about CLOVERFIELD’s record-breaking opening weekend:
We are still DUMBFOUNDED by the weekend’s turn out. It’s one thing to work on a project you love. It’s another to get such a WONDERFUL reaction to it!
Ego just doesn’t exist in that office.

I was doing a phone interview last night and I was asked what an “Easter Egg” is. I actually had to stop for a moment - the realization that there are still people in the world who are unfamiliar with Easter Eggs was a bit startling for me. But then again, not everyone has been immersed in Bad Robotland for the past five years like I have. Weird.
Oh, I am posting this to share this piece from SciFiWire with Matt Reeves. The question is - am I more amused that Reeves was so coy about the Easter Eggs that CLOVERFIELD fans have been picking apart on the internet…or by the thought that the interviewer actually thought he would get a straight answer? Hmmm…
***SPOILER WARNING!!!*** — There is mention of specific scenes from the movie in this article.

If you’ve seen the movie, then you know that one of the most unforgettable characters was someone you barely saw at all - and I ain’t talking about the MONSTER. In fact, I think the big C-Field boogity boogity was on screen more than Hud was. SciFiWire has an interview with T.J. Miller up, the voice behind the camcorder (a/k/a Tomja’s HERO).

In case you hadn’t heard, CLOVERFIELD’s opening weekend is the best January opening EVAH!! There will be no living with those BR folks now…
TEASING! HUGE congrats to JJ, Burky, the Ultimate Drew, Matt Reeves and my buddy Dave Baronoff (who neglected to tell me he had an Associate Producer credit for the movie - w00t!). I’ll be posting my thoughts on the movie soon.
