IGN interviews JJ

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

IGN managed to tackle the blur known as J.J. Abrams this week and get some questions answered about his Star Trek movie (i.e., the movie will still be done by Christmas - it was Paramount that made the decision to delay the release until May) and the continued swirling rumors around a sequel to Cloverfield (i.e., JJ would rather do a new and different movie with Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard rather than a sequel).

You can find the interview HERE.

FRINGE: A little more from the Upfronts

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

I can’t help it. This little blurb from E! Online produced what could most closely be labeled a “guffaw” from me:

Fringe: Joshua Jackson is back! The man is hilarious, and when I pried about where the series might go after the pilot, he said, “What? Do you think this is my first time at the rodeo? I can’t tell you that! I’ll be killed.” (He was being chaperoned by Bad Robot badass Bryan Burk, so perhaps his fears were legitimate.)

*giggle* It’s about time the press recognize the badassery that is Burky.

If you want to read the full synopsis for FOX’s upfront last week, go HERE. I will warn you that there are some spoilers for the FRINGE pilot in the Live Blogging section of the article.

FRINGE: Trailer

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Thank the internet gods - you can see the trailer for FRINGE by clicking HERE.

The trailer is epic. You know that movie-like feeling you got the first time you saw an ad for LOST? Yeah, it is THAT cool. Plus, it ironically (or not) also involves a plane.

Thanks to http://fringetv.blogspot.com for finding the link.

FRINGE: Cows Take Manhattan

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Those lucky stiffs over at Zap2it’s From Inside the Box blog were at the FOX Upfront and got to see the infamous COWS. Alongside the cows were the FRINGE street team handing out cards and apples.

*seethes with jealousy*

Though I guess the fact that I actually know what the cows mean would make some of those peeps at From Inside the Box jealous of me, yeah? ;)

It is being run by this nice guy named Edward, who in the past couple of months has started that blog, a forum, a Facebook group, a Wiki and even a Flickr account for FRINGE fans. He is made of AWESOME.

From FOX, we have a few new links as well:

Official FOX SiteThough they misspelled Bob Orci’s name - UGH - it’s ROBERTO…not ‘Romberto.’ It’s fixed now ;)
Programming Information — Which for now has a breakdown of the characters, actors and premise for the show. Go check it out.

But the BESTEST thing to pop up yesterday for FRINGE were these two sneak peeks - SQUEE!

The premiere date is now in the sidebar. FRINGE will air Tuesday nights on FOX at 9/8 Central, following HOUSE.

LOST: Darlton answers questions about “Cabin Fever”

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

If you are still mind-frakked over last week’s Lost episode, then you should go HERE to read Watch with Kristin’s interview with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. The Darlton boys are doing interviews aplenty these days - pretty typical for the Season Finale build up.

Assume there be spoilers in the article.

Press Release for Javi’s The Middleman

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

The press release from ABC Family for The Middleman, the TV show based on the comics by former Lost scribe Javier Grillo-Marxuach is below. Javi is the showrunner for the show, which premieres on June 16th at 8/7 Central.

EVIL MEETS ITS MATCH ON JUNE 16!

ABC FAMILY’S NEW ORIGINAL SERIES “THE MIDDLEMAN” IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!

Burbank, CA (May 6, 2008) There are the strange occurrences that can never be explainedincidents with creatures that couldn’t possibly be realevil forces lurking in the dark, out of the sight of ordinary peoplebut there is one man out there who fights such evil every day so you don’t have to: The Middleman. The wild and weird adventures of “The Middleman” begin Monday, June 16 (8:00 9:00 PM ET/PT) on ABC Family with the premiere of the new original series based on the graphic novels written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach (”Lost,” “Medium”). The thirteen-one hour episodes star Matt Keeslar (”Snowglobe”), Natalie Morales (”CSI: Miami”), Mary Pat Gleason (”I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry”), Brit Morgan (”Buried Alive”) and Jake Smollett (”Eve’s Bayou”).

Wendy Watson (Morales) is a 22 year-old art school graduate struggling to stay afloat at a series of dead-end temp jobs. Living with her best friend Lacey (Morgan) in an illegal sublet, she bounces from one temp job to another while putting off her mother’s daily inquiries to what she is going to do with her life.

Wendy’s situation takes a drastic turn during a routine temp assignment at a local laboratory, when she is thrown into the middle of a science experiment gone very wrong. If that weren’t bizarre enough, who should show up to save the day, but a mysterious, handsome, gun-wielding stranger who introduces himself only asThe Middleman (Keeslar).

A covert hero who neutralizes any and all danger humanity isn’t prepared to face, the milk-drinking, ruggedly wholesome Middleman is in need of a new colleague in the fight against otherworldly evil and thinks Wendy fits the bill. After a series of tests that would make grown astronauts weep and Navy Seals beg for mercy, Wendy is quickly recruited into the Middleman ranks.

Now fighting comic book-esque criminals under the guidance of her new boss, Wendy tries to wrap her head around the new and definitely weird situation. But the Middleman is sure she can do the job, even though his cranky robot assistant Ida (Gleason) questions his choice every step of the way.

Soon Wendy learns that there will always be another unfathomable peril to contain and focusing on her painting will be easier said than done. Now living a double life, can Wendy balance an undercover Middleman mission with “normal” life in her offbeat circle of artist friends?

“The Middleman” is created and executive produced by Javier Grillo-Marxuach, based on his Viper Comics Graphic Novels (illustrated by Les McClaine). The series is also executive produced by John Ziffren and co-executive produced by Hans Beimler. Director Jeremiah Chechik acts as supervising producer, with producer Jon Pare, co-producer Sarah Watson and supervising producer Tracey Stern…

LOST gets its missing hours back

Friday, May 9th, 2008

According to The Hollywood Reporter (and as ganked from SciFiWire) - we will be getting our FULL serving of LOST episodes as originally contracted last Summer. ABC announced that we will get 17 hours of LOST in Season 5 and 17 hours in Season 6, rather than 16 per.

So here is the math:

Pre-Strike Deal: 16 hours per remaining three seasons (4-6) = 48 hours

Post-Strike Season 4 actual hours = 14 (was 13 until Darlton fought for the extra hour for the finale)

Difference = 2 hours

This announcement essentially means that we will get those missing hours - one in S5 and one in S6.

Post-Strike Episode Division: 14 (Season 4) + 17 (Season 5) + 17 (Season 6) = 48

Now all is right with the world ;)
